Version 1.1 of dvvy Chargeback is now available! (And there was much rejoicing.)

What’s new?

In addition to a number of general purpose updates, enhancements, and fixes, dvvy 1.1 provides greater granularity in terms of data tracking and ownership. You can now divvy up charges when multiple groups have data sources that have the same index and source type configuration. If you’re running a chargeback or “showback” project to quantify the technical or financial impact of Splunk usage, it’s obviously important to report on these data sources as well.

dvvy 1.1 leverages pipeline keys (index-time fields) to assign data ownership and subsequently determine utilization. A follow up post to Diving into dvvy is in the works that will cover our technical approach in detail.
